An utmost bizarrely wonderful and entertaining record. There are occasions in which you expect the machine to quit with a bang. The ambiguity between music and field recording adds some dimension while contemplating on this.

'Variations on a Sewing Machine' was recorded using a contact mic, Singer MCPK 5802C and a Harley Benton mini looper pedal. The recordings are not processed through electronics allowing the sounds of the Singer to ring true to life. Unfortunately, this may have been the Singer MCPK 5802C's final outing as the machine caught fire during the recording process.'
